I was lucky enough to get a ticket to LS:N Global's Spring/Summer 2015 trend briefing at London's Purcell Room on the Southbank. It was a fantastic day out that consisted of about 4 hours of global snapshots on trends to watch, technologies to embrace and consumer tribes to target. The 3 trends included were; Whole-System Thinking, The Optimised Self and The Immortal Brand.
Not only was it beneficial to listen to and absorb the information regarding themes such as closed-loop consumerism, biotechnology and hyper personalised products and services. There was also an opportunity to network with successful businessmen and women at the end of the day from companies such as Anthropologie and Sheridan & Co.
I found the whole event extremely beneficial to both my University work and my future career within the world of fashion and retail. The Future Lab who organised the event focused heavily on methods of tackling environmental issues through companies acting responsibly in terms of ethics and sustainability; something that has been a main focus of mine over the past year when writing both my dissertation and final major project.
Here is a video from one of the presentations surrounding corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Just some food for thought...
